    Course discusses the knowledge and skills necessary to be successful in today’s dental office as an administrative assistant. Areas of study include basic dental anatomy, communication and telephone skills, information management and dental insurance processing, as well as financial procedures. Skills are perfected by use of hands-on activities relating to these areas.

  • CERTIFIED MEDICATION AIDE (CMA)

    About Course

    Become a Certified Medication Aide in this self-paced, self-taught course. Upon completion of this course you must pass the State Certification Exam. Clinicals arranged with instructor. Must furnish uniform (scrubs) for all in-person activities.

    Required: Book.

    Prerequisites: Must be at least 18 years of age; have a high school diploma or GED; hold current certification for LTC, HHC or DDDC with no abuse notations; have six months experience as a nurse aide; be physically and mentally able to perform the duties as a Medication Aide. National Background Check, flu vaccine and two-step TB test required upon enrollment. Drug Screen is time-sensitive and will be explained during orientation.

    Note: Hybrid coursework is 100% online. Orientation, skills, and testing performed on-site.

    In this self-paced, instructor-assisted course, earn 8 hours of continuing education necessary annually for CMA’s and ACMA’s. Approved by Oklahoma State Department of Health. Must furnish uniform (scrubs) for all in-person activities.

    Prerequisite: Certified Medication Aide listed on State Nurse Aide Registry. Both CNA & CMA certifications must be current.

    Note: Working lunch, student will need to bring their own lunch. This class is applicable to Advanced CMA’s also.

    About Course

    Medical Terminology courses are helpful for any career that uses medical terminology such as medical coding, health information technology, working as a health care professional, or working in the administrative side of health care.

    This course will help prepare you for jobs related to health care by teaching you the language of medicine, including an overview of how the different organ systems function, information about many different medical disorders, and information about diagnostic and treatment procedures. As a result, it will help prepare you for related college courses and for certification or admissions exams that expect you to have an understanding of medical terminology. For example, this course will help prepare you for the certification exam for medical coders and for the HESI exam which is often required for admission into nursing schools.
